Auditioning for Anya/Princess Anastasia (Soprano)
Anya is a scrappy and determined young woman with no memory of her former life as a Romanov Princess after escaping the Bolshevik uprising as a child. She begins a journey of self-discovery on her way to Paris with two con artists to be reunited with the family she is certain is waiting for her– and falls in love on the way.

Auditioning for Dmitry (Tenor)
Dmitry is a conman with great comedic timing and charm despite his lower status. His scheme to present Anya as the long lost Princess Anastasia for a reward goes awry when he falls in love, transforms his moral compass, and gives a great sacrifice.

Auditioning for Dowager Empress Maria Feodorovna (Mezzo)
The Dowager Empress fled to Paris where years later she is still searching for her last surviving relative, her granddaughter Princess Anastasia. A former royal, she has become cynical from years of turning away actresses and fortune seekers. When Anya meets the Empress and finally breaks her exterior, she finds the everlasting warmth and love of family she has been missing.

Auditioning for Countess Lily Malevsky-Malevitch (Mezzo)
Countess Lily is the Dowager Empress’ right-hand in Paris, and the jovial and passionate comedic counterpart to Vlad Popov. She orchestrates the Empress’ search for the real Princess Anya while being endlessly energetic and nostalgic for her former life as a Russian noble. She is delighted to be reunited with Vlad who has accompanied Anya and Dmitry to Paris.
“I Want To Go To Hollywood” from Grand Hotel
Auditioning for Vlad Popov (Baritone)
Russian ex-noble Vlad schemes with conman Dmitry to present Anya as the lost Anastasia. Although he initially faked his way into nobility and now seeks the Empress’ reward and a reunion with his former lover Countess Lily, he ultimately drops all personal gains to reunite Anya with her family. He is witty, genuinely good-hearted, and the comedic counterpart to Countess Lily.
“One Track Mind” from Sweet Smell of Success
Auditioning for Gleb Vaganov (Baritone)
Gleb is an ambitious young Bolshevik officer who dutifully enforces the party’s continued reign in St. Petersburg. His mission is to annihilate the rumors of Anastasia’s survival, but he is conflicted by his affection for her.
“I’ll Be There” from The Pirate Queen
Auditioning for Tsarina Alexandra (Mezzo)
Regal, yet wrought with uncertainty and dread for the alleged uprising, Tsarina Alexandra is a stern but loving mother.
“How Are Things in Glocca Morra” from Finian’s Rainbow
Auditioning for Young Anastasia (Soprano)
The youngest daughter of the Tsar of Russia. Sweet, adventurous, and unknowing of the trouble ahead.
“Castle on a Cloud” from Les Miserables
Auditioning for Count Leopold (Bass/Baritone)
A presumptive Romanov heir, Count Leopold is sinister and a snob. Also plays Gorlinksy, the intimidating communist official.
“Sometimes A Day Goes By” from Woman of the Year
Auditioning for Tsar Nicholas II (Baritone)
Elegant and commanding, also plays Count Ipolitov. He is a loving father who tries to keep the peace between his mother, the Dowager Empress, and his wife, the Tsarina.
“This Nearly Was Mine” from South Pacific
Audition for Ensemble (all vocal types)
Ensemble roles with extreme range and skill to fill the environment with various Townspeople, Bolshevik workers, travelers, and Russian nobility and expatriates. May also understudy leading and supporting roles.
